The King of Pop

I was so sad last night, all of us in the office found out right away about Michael, but it didn’t really hit me till I was in the car driving home. Every radio station was playing their tribute to MJ, and I realized that he will forever be remembered as a man that shaped what our music industry is today, he was and is such an inspiration.

Michael was so troubled, his whole life. No one can ever truely know what he’s done or been through, I can’t stand the horrible jokes that have gone on for so long. I can’t stand that his image will forever be tarnished by things that may or may not be true. As for me, I hope that he had some peace, and happiness in his life.

I choose to remember Michael like this…

That’s all I can say about my lack of posting lately… work has been ridiculous and it’s really got me thinking. I’m going to be 25 this year (I know I’m still super young, yeah yeah , blah blah) and I haven’t done anything! I mean, I have an amazing husband, a great job, I got my yoga certification… but when do I get to start living?

We want to travel, I want to actually have time to take a yoga class for myself again. I want to learn to play the guitar and take acting/singing lessons. I want to be at a place where I finally feel like “We’ve arrived, this is our life”… Does that even make sense? I’ve decided to make a list of my goals for the next year, 3 years, 5 years, 10 years… I’ll keep ya’ll posted.

So for now… here is a little fashion inspiro from miss MK Olsen. This is all I want to wear, everyday, forever… haha or at least until work mellows out a bit.

Much love! Thanks for sticking it out with me…

“I’m in a hrace”

(Rat Race, anyone?)

Anyway… I woke up two hours late today, which means I got to work about two hours late as well. I feel like I’ve been racing around through the last few weeks. Times are crazy for me lately and it doesn’t look like it’s slowing down anytime soon.

I will try to post about everything that’s been going on and coming up soon.

For example, I made a 2 layer cake in the shape of a guitar for a friends birthday … it took me nine hours… such a fiasco… details and pictures to come.

I just found this picture from december, The Hubby had it stached in his camera since december…. I love it, and it reminds me of how much I love to do cakes, even when the occasional disaster happens… I am my own worst critic…

Oh and this is one of my favorites of Kenny, he’s so cute when he’s happy. I love it.

Later Bloggers…

Modcloth kills me everytime

I never spend much money on clothes or shoes. My occasional splurging constists of going to the local hole in the wall shop and spending $40 on two dresses or  $30 on  a couple pairs of shoes from GoJane. Even then though I usually spend money when I really need something. For example, I need an LBD (little black dress) and found a super cute one for $20, or I need a staple shoe like black slingbacks for nice events ( I have a wine tasting benefit this Friday, I’ll post more about it later)

Well, then I go to Modcloth and SWOOSH! all my shopping will power wants to fly out the window…

Here are the latest shoes and dress that I am about to splurge on… don’t let me do it!

These first three are especially hard because I have been looking for a brown or nude bootie for a while and all three of these are great in different ways… What do you think?

Safari Chic Booties $43

Safari Chic Booties $43

The Dressage Wedge $90

The Dressage Wedge $90

I realize that these ones are more than that what I would pay for the other two combined, but they’re wedges, WEDGES! Ugh

Style Icon Oxfords $40

Let me know what you think

Thanks for voting!

I’m loving these boots, especially the wooden heal. I think I could even push them down enough so they’ll be slouchy… since I never got my boots from GoJane…

Helsinki Boots $45

Helsinki Boots $45

And lastly, for now ;-), this dress is sold out of course… WHY? Everytime!!! Anyway how cute would this have been with the Safari Chic Boots above? I will just have to use this dress for inspiration, I think I have a skirt that will work, not to find a cute collared halter, with buttons of course…

I’m sorry I still don’t have any pictures of me or my outfits.  I did get some great pics of what I wore Friday night, I can’t wait to post them.

My camera did get fixed but my computer has to reload the software to get the pics off the memory card… lame I know. Thank you My Love for doing that for me today!

Till later! Ciao

What’s going on?

A lot actually… The past couple weeks have been SO busy for me, as you can probably tell by the lack of posting.

Here’s what’s been going on…

1. I had a Younglife leader retreat last weekend, Younglife is the Teen Organization my husband and I volunteer for. It’s so great to be around so many encouraging and fun people…

2. I finally sent my camera in to be fixed so this time next week I will start posting my outfit pics, I’m really excited cuz I think I put together some really great stuff.

3. I got a free one hour full body massage yesterday. My manager at the yoga studio will be giving one away at each of our monthly meetings and I was lucky enough to get it this time around. It was AMAZING by the way…

4. Work is crazy right now, we just hired a new sales guy which means a ton more work for me.

This mixed with all the normal work, yoga and younglife stuff has made my life a little jam packed.

Be on the lookout for my next wish list blog, I’m trying to make up for lost time by posting thrice in one day…

Ciao Bloggers

I’m Baaaack…

Haha, wow it’s been a while. Year end has been crazy at work. I finally finished, for the most part. I’m just waiting for our accountant in New Jersey to overlook everything and tell me if I need to correct any issues.

I have really missed blogging, it was pretty hard to stay away, but for the sake of my job and sanity I had to get everything done. I have, of course, still been checking Nicole’sblog everyday. She help to keep me from going crazy.

I just got back from snowboarding in Big Bear with about 20 high school kids. It was so much fun! Pictures to come soon, the view from our bedroom was unbelievable…

The weekend before last I went to the beach with Leahand the boys. Abel had a blast and Kendal was good as long as he didn’t have to touch the sand or the water…lol Then we joined our friends at the softball field by our house to watch Kenny and the best friends play their qualifying game. After that we all met up at our house for a couple games of Settlers and some Kung Fu Panda action.

I have been so busy lately and it seems that it is to hard for me to say “no” to some people. I feel like I am going to stretch myself too thin, I could feel myself breaking down a little bit last night. I need to really think about what I am willing to give up. It is so hard though, because everything I’m doing are things that I LOVE, Bible studies, Teaching Yoga, being a leader to my Sr. girls in YoungLife. What do I let go of? It really makes me sad. I need to spend some time with God and really listen for what it is he wants me to be doing.

You’re outta here!

Background:  My Hubby and I have a roommate, or had, named Will but about a month ago we gave him 2 months notice, so he could have ample time to look for a new place. He was a very close friend of ours, and very young. Anyway, for the last 4 months or so he has been increasingly rude to Kenny, sometimes just plain ignoring him. He became very manipulative whenever you tried to talk to him, even about normal stuff. It was really weird. We think he is trying to sever the friendships with the people that knew him before he “came out”. Kenny was the first person he came out to, that’s how close they were.  So, anyway, we decided it just wasn’t fun anymore, we couldn’t even talk to him and he always had a bad attitude.

A week or two ago Kenny bought a couple of beanies and shirts for his Bro for Xmas, one of the beanies went “missing”. Kenny brought up to me that he saw Will in the same beanie but doesn’t want to overreact, maybe it’s a coincidence….

Last night we were up watching a movie(Interview with the Vampire, my favorite) and Will comes in with the Beanie on so Kenny just asks,

K  – “hey is that a Hurley Beanie?”

W – “No it’s Volcom” and rushes into his room.

Later, Kenny can’t take it and knocks on his door… (mind you at this point, Will’s body language gave him away)

K – “Will I’m missing my beanie exactly like the one you were wearing, could it be mine?”

W – “I didn’t take your Beanie”

K – “Well you said yours was Volcom, can I see it?”

W – “I don’t know where it is.”

K – “Well you were just wearing it, can I just see it?”

W – “No, I don’t know where it is! I’m packing and I don’t know where I put it.”   BLAH BLAH BLAH Got no where… Later, right before bed, Kenny can’t take it, he wanted to give him one more chance to come clean.

Will is the type that if we had been wrong he would have shoved it in our faces that it was Volcom and not Hurley, not to mention that Kenny and I are the type that if we are not SURE, we would never accuse someone of stealing.

W – “Do you want me to call my mom right now and have her tell you she got it for me for Xmas?”

J(me) – “Yes, I do, or you can find it in your 10×10 foot bedroom”

W – “No, I’m mad now I’m not going to find it for you, cuz you are accusing me of being a thief!”

J – “Ok  then call your Mom.”

W – “No, now I’m not going to do that either, cuz that’s what YOU want me to do!”

J – “Stop acting like a child, how can you stand there and lie to us? You really don’t understand why we can’t live with you anymore?”

This is where he goes on to say that Kenny is a homophobe because he doesn’t know anything about homosexuality, so I told him that he obviously doesn’t even know what that word means and he shouldn’t go throwing it around.

J – “I would like for you to leave now. We can’t trust you and you are being dishonest and manipulitive. I’m really sad to see the person you are allowing yourself to become. I know that right under the surface you know what you’ve done, and it sucks that you would treat us this way.”

Yada Yada Yada and he was out, his step mom picked him up, with all his stuff.

SOOOOO…. almost done I promise….

Today Kenny is in Will’s old room and finds *GASP* a Hurley tag with the serial number that when typed in online pulls up a picture of “the beanie in question”. It was on the shelf in his closet.

Why? WHY do we have such luck with roomates? Anyone?

Ah… I needed to vent…
