Good Morning…*yawn

How is everyone this morning? I’m doing pretty good actually. It has been really hard to get out of bed in the morning lately, but I’m workiing on it….

I was CRAZY busy this weekend. I got the opportunity to join the nutrition program offered at the yoga studio I teach at. It was amazing! I am starting a “cleanse” today, it will go on for about 2 weeks.

I won’t get too much into the details but I will say this… I was pretty nervous yesterday, just about the whole thing, what I’m supposed to eat, what I’m not. But, I’m good this morning, I have a great coach, who I already bugged twice yesterday while I was shopping and prepping my food for today. I also convinced “The Hubby” to do the cleanse and whole program with me. Yay.

It was pretty much hilarious when he realized what the portions were… haha….ah Kenny you crack me up.

I’ll keep you up to speed on what I’m eating each day and how I’m doing with food cravings and such. I’m really excited to give my body a fresh start and, after the cleanse, beginning to eat what’s right for me.

 

On another note, Kenny gave me a little challenge. He wants me to find some styles I like for him to wear. He’s usually super casual, he’ s very active, rides a bike everywear. So mostly we don’t know what he should wear when we go out… I did find this pic that I love. I can’t remember the designer now(any ideas?) but I love the fit of the pants and how the soft shirts just seem to lay there, the way they fit is totally appealing and Kenny absolutely has the body to make them work… not a huge fan of the giant scarf on a guy but I could “warm”  up to them… 😉

Red Hair….

I have a thing for red hair right now, but a specific color of red.

A few years back I had bleach blonde hair, that I straightened everyday. Eventually I got to a point where I was tired of having super damaged hair, bleached blonde and straight like every other girl in OC. I wanted to make a change, to be comfortable in my own skin, so I started growing my hair out, stopped straightening and waited… when it was finally long enough to cut off the blonde but still have long hair(like a year) I chopped all the bleached part off. I loved it! Who knew I had light brown curly hair…lol (this pic was taken about 1 yr after I cut off the blonde)

 

Well now I have a thing for this red color that I originally saw in “Perfume” (super odd movie). Maybe I’m just bored with my hair, I literally don’t know how to do anything with it…. but I beginning to toy with the idea of going red…

I’m Baaaack…

Haha, wow it’s been a while. Year end has been crazy at work. I finally finished, for the most part. I’m just waiting for our accountant in New Jersey to overlook everything and tell me if I need to correct any issues.

I have really missed blogging, it was pretty hard to stay away, but for the sake of my job and sanity I had to get everything done. I have, of course, still been checking Nicole’sblog everyday. She help to keep me from going crazy. 

I just got back from snowboarding in Big Bear with about 20 high school kids. It was so much fun! Pictures to come soon, the view from our bedroom was unbelievable…

The weekend before last I went to the beach with Leahand the boys. Abel had a blast and Kendal was good as long as he didn’t have to touch the sand or the water…lol Then we joined our friends at the softball field by our house to watch Kenny and the best friends play their qualifying game. After that we all met up at our house for a couple games of Settlers and some Kung Fu Panda action.

I have been so busy lately and it seems that it is to hard for me to say “no” to some people. I feel like I am going to stretch myself too thin, I could feel myself breaking down a little bit last night. I need to really think about what I am willing to give up. It is so hard though, because everything I’m doing are things that I LOVE, Bible studies, Teaching Yoga, being a leader to my Sr. girls in YoungLife. What do I let go of? It really makes me sad. I need to spend some time with God and really listen for what it is he wants me to be doing.

Year End is killing my blog…

Year end at the office is a crazy time for me. I have had to concentrate solely on work, not even a normal lunch break! Anyway, my blogging life will be back to normal very soon, I hope. Until then here is a little update…

 

*Xmas was awesome, I got to spend some great quality time with most of my family.  Kenny and I got Manduka yoga mats, which are like the Mazerati of yoga mats. Super exciting!  We got a lot of things we needed and a few added suprises like a salt rock air purifier from Nicole and Peter and gift cards for 1 hour of foot reflexology… Good times!

 

*New Years was alot of fun, even though our plans ended up falling through. We started the night with a few friends playing a game of Settlers of Catan, yeah…. for 6 hours! We ended up missing our friends block party because we were so in to the game. We bought it the other day and have been playing it so much that for a couple of nights I was dreaming about different stratagies… Bad I know.

 

*Reading – I have been reading a lot lately, this is great because it’s my favorite thing to do. I just finished the first two of the Left Behind series which I LOVED. Now I’ve moved on to the Twilight series, I like it a lot and I love Edward. The only thing that I find a bit irritating is that in certain situations the writer seems to overdo it a bit, it ends up being hard to picture the event. Other than that, it’s great!

 

*Uganda- On Christmas day there was rebel attack in Northern Uganda, not far from where I was in September. 400 villagers were killed and some children were ubducted, it’s painful to think about. It’s not a war, it’s literally men with guns and machetes coming into a village of farmers and… I don’t even know.  I can only pray for those killed, hurt, ubducted and those who were left with no one to care for them. (if you want to do some research Google the “LRA” or “Lord’s Resistance Army” or “Joseph Kony”)

I’m feeling a little crappy today I lost my voice Friday night, and now I have a cough, I hope I wont be sick for Xmas.

 

I have a bit of last minute shopping to do, as usual. Next year I’ve decided to by things throughout the year, I’ll try to update each time.

 

Nicole bought my Xmas present while out “thrifting” which I love for two reasons.. 1) It shows that she knows me and is a super thoughtful person. 2) I feel good knowing that my friends know they don’t have to spend a ton of money on me. I can’t wait to see what she found…

 

I’m a little late posting a pic of my birthday cake, but here it is. It’s an “inside out Ding Dong” cake. SUPER good. This is my favorite recipe as far as the choc cake part. The frosting was pretty good, marshmallow cream, but I’m still looking for my favorite frosting recipe..

I wanted it to look girly and cute, I think I accomplished that. Thank you to my family for getting me all my decorating and baking tools for my B-day! Oh it was my friend Diana’s bday too, in case you didn’t figure that out by reading the cake, haha….

Rainy Day Tuesday

(NOTE: HaHa I was so screwed up by the rain I thought it was Tuesday, it was Wednesday… wow)

With “Year End” right around the corner, work has been super busy for me. But I thought a little update would be good.

 

*I wore the short dress to the Company Christmas party, but by the end of it I kind of wished I wore the longer one. Oh well. Pics to come soon, my shoes were rad! Thanks to everyone that voted for the dresses (it seems all my guy friends voted for the long one, weird)If you don’t know what I’m talking about go to this POST

 

*I got my iPhone, and it’s more awesome than I could have imagined… lol I’m a little obsessive but I’m sure I’ll calm down with time, I’ll post soon about all the amazing Aps that I love.

 

*I had my birthday party on Saturday the 13th and it was pretty fun, it didn’t really feel like my birthday party though, it was odd. Post to come on the Beautiful cake I made, with pictures of course, you can see some pics of the weekend at NICOLE‘s blog.

 

* One of my Yoga Students, Lori, made me a hat for Christmas and brought it to the studio last night before I taught class….. Awesome! Look how cute it is! Perfect day for it too, I’m cold. brrr Oh and the scarf was a gift from our Younglife area leader

 

*Random, my eyes are almost brown today, they’re normally greenish. It’s the rain I think…

Happy Birthday to ME!

I am 24 today! Very exciting, I like the sound of 24 and I like getting older. I like seeing the changes in my face and body, feeling more like a woman every year.  I can almost rent a car, haha. The guys at work pitched in and got me $200 in gift cards to AT&T cuz I’ve been talking about the Iphone alot lately. Oh and an Iphone clear cover! AwesomeI I’m excited too because you can access Skype via the web, I love skype free online calling to anywhere in the world, so I can call my friends in Italy, England and even Africa! (haha I sound like an infomertial) They all sang to me and even my hubby and Don (our Associate Pastor, who we are really close with) were there to join in!

Great morning! All my friends have texted me to wish me a happy birthday, that’s the best part of birthdays. I love the calls when a friend (or mom) calls sounding all tired to sing, then go back to bed. haha

This is bound to be a great weekend. I have the Company Christmas party on Thurday night, a Younglife Christmas party Friday night, then Mel’s “My mom is out of town” party later Friday night, Corepower Yoga Christmas Party Saturday night, then Finallly my Birthday Party later Saturday night! Woo Hoo!!! I’m so blessed to have the friends I do, the family, the job, the jeep(even though it broke down last night). I am so blessed and loved. Thank you all! Even you bloggers, thanks for coming to my little space and reading about my life.

Wish list…kinda.

My 24th birthday is on the 10th and I can’t wait to get friends together again and have a grand ol’ time. I’m going to bake another cake and I call it the “Inside Out Ding Dong Cake”, for the most obvious reason. It’s basically an inside out Hostess Ding Dong. I’m gonna decorate it all cute too. Which got me thinking about some great xmas present ideas since my family has been asking me what I want. Here are some things I would love since I’ll be baking a lot more and friends have already been asking that I make them cakes as well.

A piping set, bags and piping tips:  a good set of tips starts at around 26 pieces and couplers (the plastic things that keep the tips in the bags) and about five bags, reusable.  (*UPDATE: Found a 26 piece set of tips at WalMart)

A spinning cake stand like the one below: (*UPDATE: I found at WalMart for like $18)

And a cake carrier about 10″ tall, like this:

This has gotten me thinking about other things I need, like a good blow dryer but only one that has a difuser attachment. 

A purse, one that is big enough to hold a book or two and all the little things a girl needs to have on hand, something with a center divider and lots of pockets on the inside walls. (* UPDATE:  Like this cute one I found at target online $18, I couldn’t get the pic to save so go to Target.com third row down “Merona Purple Tote”)

 

OOOhhh I just had such a cute idea, Nicole this is for you…. not for you to make for me necessarily, but just an idea in general :). What if you made a scarf that had a cute little pocket or two near one end that had a little folding bit over it with a button to close it, like the purse you made me. That way a girl could ditch the purse and carry her phone and money or lipgloss or whatever in her scarf…. what do you think? (did you notice that I figured out the link thing too? Finally!)

Wow! Ok so for those of you who are living under a rock, Robert Pattinson is the actor who played Edward Cullen in Twilight. He was also Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter until Cedric died of course (for the record I didn’t even realize who he was until Nicole brought it up after the movie was over, what kind of Harry Potter fan am I?). ANYWAY, so I was “youtubing” at work and found a recording of one of the songs from the soundtrack and guess who is singing it? Robert Pattison!!!! aka Bobby Dupea (his aka for when he performs music) He is SOOO good, and i’m not some crazy fan who will love everything he does just cuz it’s him. To be honest he kind of sucked in the first half of Twilight. He is a serioualy talented blue grass folksy singer. He plays the guitar and the piano.

*Nicole this post is for you of course, cuz I just know how excited you’re gonna be when you hear him. And if you already know… then WHY DIDIN’T YOU TELL ME!?!? haha Needless to say, I think I have a new little crush…
