Are you kidding? No.

Wow! Ok so for those of you who are living under a rock, Robert Pattinson is the actor who played Edward Cullen in Twilight. He was also Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter until Cedric died of course (for the record I didn’t even realize who he was until Nicole brought it up after the movie was over, what kind of Harry Potter fan am I?). ANYWAY, so I was “youtubing” at work and found a recording of one of the songs from the soundtrack and guess who is singing it? Robert Pattison!!!! aka Bobby Dupea (his aka for when he performs music) He is SOOO good, and i’m not some crazy fan who will love everything he does just cuz it’s him. To be honest he kind of sucked in the first half of Twilight. He is a serioualy talented blue grass folksy singer. He plays the guitar and the piano.

*Nicole this post is for you of course, cuz I just know how excited you’re gonna be when you hear him. And if you already know… then WHY DIDIN’T YOU TELL ME!?!? haha Needless to say, I think I have a new little crush…

Yoga Bags

I have a pet peeve about most yoga bags… balance is a really important part of yoga, not stretching one side more than the other. So I’ve never understood why almost every singe yoga bag you see is an over-the-shoulder bag. It doesn’t make sense, and it’s not comfortable, especially since a good yoga mat can feel like your carrying around a big rubber tire. So I began my search for a “Yoga Backpack”, I started looking months ago and I found the first one today. It’s awesome, but it’s Lululemon which is one of the “high end” Yoga brands. I don’t know how muc it is, but I’m really tempted seeing as how after months  and months of searching this is the first I’ve found. It’s great too because it’s made to hold a camel(water pouch thingy) a laptop and ipod a blackberry, anything you could think of, and most importantly a Yoga Mat! Yay! Here’s a picture from their site, I like this green color but they have a really pretty teal color that I love. http://www.lululemon.com/products/accessories/gear/cruiser_bagpackyoga-backpack

My nose…

I got it pierced on Sunday. My younger sisters got piercings as well, one got her navel and the other got her nose. I love it and I’m so excited my sisters and I did it together, it was so much fun, even after we were all finished and could finally react to how badly it hurt. One by one we tried to act tough so the next girl wouldn’t freak out. There were six people in our group that got piercings. Four noses and two belly buttons. I had hoped my sister Chelsie would change her mind about the navel ring because I had it done when I was 16 and finally got sick of it almost 3 years ago. Don’t get me wrong, it  looks super cute on her!I think a woman’s stomach is much more attractive without, plus you risk nasty scars during and after pregnancy. Carlie, my other sister looks so cute with her nose done, she has the prettiest little button nose. I can’t stop looking in the mirror to make sure it’s still there. I love it so much, however Man did it hurt, WAY worse than the navel ring did. The whole left side of my face hurt for at least an hour, maybe two. OOHHWEE! Anyway, I’ll add a picture later cuz my camera phone just doesn’t do it justice.

The Boots…

I want these boots so bad! Of course I would never feel justified in buying $200 shoes, even if I would wear them until they died… keeping my fingers crossed that they’ll go on sale… like a MAJOR sale… haha! Come on Macy’s, ooh maybe I’ll try on Black Friday?

Can we NOT?…

So I thought since the elections were over I would be saved from political talks at work. Oh was I wrong….

My Boss thinks that because I don’t respond to him when he talks about politics that I am uneducated. I don’t pretend to know everything, there are some things I don’t know anything about, but either way I don’t want to talk about it with my boss. Oh, I have an opinion and some of the time it may even agree with his. But I don’t choose to talk about it. He just keeps digging, and digging, and digging….

NO MORE POLITICS TALK AT WORK!

Kenny’s b-day party

Kenny’s party was a great success. We had 12 of our really close friends together and had a great time. The cake turned out awesome! Even better than I had hoped and it looked great too! We had wine, hookah, flip cup tourneys and the boys even played some beer pong. We are not big partiers, but it sure was fun to host people again and have some good laughs. The girls made a wine run and ended up on the little mechanical horse outside of Stater Bro’s, taking pictures of course…haha good times. We ended the party with a round of Scene It (my favorite game). Kenny got a head light, which he has wanted for a while, a couple cigars, a bottle of Cavasia(is that spelled right?), and a gift card to REI. He was so excited to have his friends together and the presents helped a bit too. haha. Even our neighbor Mo came up to share a beer with him. The party ended with Kenny and I, and Nicole and Peter heading to Norm’s for a late night snack at like 1:35. At 1:40 Nicole gets a frantic call from our friend Patty, Peter’s sister, who was also at the party with her boyfriend Brandon and friend Cody. They had witnessed a horrible car accident on Edinger and Goldenwest. Here is the link for the news article (http://www.ocregister.com/articles/police-old-collision-2229882-driver-beach) I’ll let you read that for the details since I’m posting at work. Basically we arrived before the firetrucks did and the car was competely engulfed. Brandon and Cody tried to run over to help the man trapped inside but couldn’t even get within 20 feet of the car. Patty was very upset and all we could do was watch. There wasn’t even any attempt made to get him out of the car because of the flames. All I can say was it was like a scene from a movie, you never think you’ll see anything like it in your life, and I hope if nothing else it will keep people from driving drunk. Of course now Kenny wants to be a fireman even more than he did before.

Thanks for reading! I’ll have party pics uploaded as soon as I get them from Patty and Nicole.

I love to bake, why don’t I do it more….

So last night I baked Kenny’s birthday cake, thank goodness for Nicole’s great advice or I would have tried to do the whole thing after work today before his party.  I still have to make the Chocolate-Peanut butter ganache for the top, but that should only take me a half hour or so. Last night I baked 3 layers of sour cream chocolate cake , made the Peanut butter-cream cheese filling/frosting (all from scratch). I snuck a little taste and OH MAN! I think I’m gonna need to buy some extra milk for all the party goers. I was up until just before 2 am baking and frosting and watching “Once Were Warriors” in between.

I love to bake, I always have, although this was my first “big” project. I used to decorate cakes for Baskin Robins and then again for Ralphs and it’s one of my all time favorite things to do. Unfortunately this cake did not call for much decorating, it still looks beautiful. This was the first time I have actually made the cake and frosting and all. It was amazing. I really miss baking, so I decided that from now on I will bake something once a month and share it with my friends. Of course I will blog about it as well, keep you all posted. I found the recipe for my Chocolate-Peanut Butter cake here, http://smittenkitchen.com/2008/08/chocolate-peanut-butter-cake/, Deb is pretty much amazing when it comes to all things food.
